Product Safety & Care
A little care goes a long way. Here is how to keep your pet comfortable and safe with our products.
Last updated: June 17, 2026
We design our beds, blankets, carriers, and apparel to be soft, washable, and built for everyday life. Like any pet product, they are meant to be used with normal care and supervision. Please take a moment to read this guidance — it helps your pet stay happy and your Howlfab pieces last.
1. Supervise your pet
Always supervise your pet when introducing a new product, and check our items regularly for wear. Stop using any product that becomes worn, frayed, or damaged. Every pet is different, so watch how yours responds and adjust as needed.
2. Our products are not chew toys
Beds, blankets, bandanas, apparel, and carriers are not chew toys. If your pet chews on fabric, straps, or trims, remove the item right away. Swallowed fabric or small parts can cause choking or a serious intestinal blockage. If you suspect your pet has swallowed any material, contact your veterinarian immediately.
3. New fabrics, dyes, and sensitive pets
Some pets are sensitive to new fabrics or dyes. Wash items before first use, and watch for any signs of irritation such as scratching, redness, or discomfort. If you notice irritation, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.
4. Not a medical or therapeutic device
Our products are comfort and lifestyle goods. They are not medical, therapeutic, or veterinary devices, and they do not treat, diagnose, cure, or prevent any condition. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary care. For any health concern, consult your veterinarian.
5. Carriers and car products are not crash-tested restraints
Our carriers and car accessories are designed for comfort and convenience. They are not crash-tested safety restraints and are not a substitute for a proper, crash-tested pet restraint system. When using a product with an internal tether, always clip the tether to a fitted harness — never to a collar, which can injure your pet’s neck. Make sure your pet is secured appropriately for travel.
6. General care and washing
- Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, unless the care label says otherwise.
- Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, which can weaken fabric and irritate skin.
- Air dry or tumble dry low to help keep the shape and softness. Remove promptly once dry.
- Wash regularly to keep things fresh, and always let items dry fully before your pet uses them again.
- Store clean, dry items in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
